• ITMO to Train Lecturers for St. Petersburg’s First IT School

  The new partnership was announced at a press conference on the construction of the first state-owned IT school in the city, held by the Government of St. Petersburg, ITMO University, and Arsenal Group. ITMO University has developed a concept and training program for teachers at the school with a view to continue implementing professional training programs for educators. Through these initiatives, the university will provide comprehensive training for young staff of new schools.

  Every year the ITMO.START educational platform for school students hosts summer courses at the university’s campuses. During the practice-oriented classes held by experienced lecturers, students have the opportunity to learn new skills, dabble in science and choose their future career paths. • Urban Environment as a Learning Laboratory

  School is one of the most conservative educational structures in Russia. To solve this problem, Anastasia Rossinskaya, a PhD in pedagogical sciences and leading research associate at the Laboratory for Sociocultural Educational Practices of the Institute of System Projects at Moscow City University, proposes to stop expecting radical changes and focus on modern educational formats instead. The researcher held a workshop for St. Petersburg’s teachers, called “City as a Student Book”, where she shared about how to help school students familiarize themselves with their cities and what they can learn on their way home from school.
