GOSTer can automatically format and assess documents for compliance with GOST, the Unified System for Design Documentation, and other normative acts. Now, instead of manually going through documents, users can upload them to GOSTer and in 5-30 seconds have any document, such as a 100-page graduation thesis, meet the standard.
The new solution can be implemented online, as well as on internal servers of any business; GOSTer can be adapted to work with any regulations, GOST standards, or other standardization documents. ITMO University and the Central Research Institute of Marine Engineering have already expressed interest in the software. The research institute will receive a specially developed on-premise enterprise solution, while the university will launch a pilot version of GOSTer this spring for use by compliance assessment clerks, who check student graduation papers for compliance with GOST standards.
GOSTer came first in the category Ideologist, which is intended for promising entrepreneurial ideas in their early promotion stages. Veronika Boltenkova, the startup founder and winner, received a statuette and prizes from the event’s partners, as well as assistance in the implementation of her project and mentorship from the Atlanta business club. With direct contacts, she will be able to start new partnerships and secure investments.
“I think I was able to win thanks to the knowledge, skills, and feedback I received from lecturers at ITMO, as well as consultations I received from the university’s community. ITMO is the best starting spot whether you're launching a business to developing a new technology in partnership with various organizations. Next, we are planning to suggest our product for automation and optimization of compliance and quality assessment at partner companies, patent offices, or in law and other fields. We are also considering entering the international market and working with local document flow standards in different countries,” shares Veronika Boltenkova.

Artem Meinov, a fourth-year PhD student at ITMO’s Faculty of Software Engineering and Computer Systems, became a finalist at the awards in the category Robotics and AI. He presented a sample of a prosthesis and exercise equipment for people with mobility disabilities. The device is equipped with an AI system that detects hyperkinetic and spastic movements in real time and adapts the training session for the user’s condition. Additionally, the device was made lighter with composite materials, as well as receiving a software update with a new web interface for settings.
At GSEA, Artem had the chance to present his project to a wider audience, acquire expert support, and meet potential partners and investors. At the moment, he is in the process of negotiating the opportunity to test his device with representatives of rehabilitation centers in order to acquire the necessary certificates for the prosthesis and implement it in practical medicine. At the same time, Artem is developing a version of the device for partial amputation, including post-traumatic cases.
Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) is an international competition of young entrepreneurs that helps them bring their businesses to national and international markets, supporting the participants with mentorship and networking opportunities. In the 2025-2026 season, startupers from 60 countries competed in 12 categories. ITMO students regularly perform well at GSEA, in the categories Future Unicorn (2025), Breakthrough of the Year (2024), and Best Student Entrepreneur (2023).
