How to apply

EduStars

The EduStars track is open to all lecturers and mentors and doesn’t require an application. To participate in this track, you simply need to do your best at the job and introduce innovative and experimental teaching approaches into your practice. This will automatically get you a place on the shortlist of nominees for the award!

EduLeaders

The second track is designed for lecturers who work on educational projects. Applications are accepted until January 31, 2022

The series of events will come to an end in April 2022. The culmination of this initiative will be an award ceremony of the best lecturers and mentors who have earned their colleagues’ recognition and have proved to be high-class professionals, specialists, and innovators.

EduStars

During the academic year, lecturers, students, mentors, deans, administration, and external experts will be part of the contest. Regardless of what track they chose, their activities will be analyzed according to the 360 Degrees feedback system. 

In order to assess the quality of the implementation of disciplines and practices, as well as their support, the expert board will take into consideration the following groups of competencies: subject and scientific knowledge, soft skills, as well as pedagogical, digital, and value competencies.

  • Evaluation criteria for lecturers will include feedback from their students, mentors, colleagues, and employees of the Department of Academic Affairs and Staff Support Office who will attend their classes, as well as reviews by their supervisors.
  • Evaluation criteria for mentors will include feedback from their students, lecturers, and employees of the Department of Academic Affairs and Staff Support Office who will attend their classes, as well as reviews by their supervisors.

Based on the assessment results, the expert board will compile a rating of employees who would compete for the award. 

Winning lecturers in each of the categories will receive 250,000 rubles. Winning mentors will be invited to undertake an internship and advanced training at leading universities in Russia and abroad. 

EduLeaders

The ITMO.EduLeaders contest is aimed at ITMO lecturers who have successfully implemented their educational projects, such as new educational tools, new formats of interaction with students, online courses, and so on. 

The contest includes four tracks:

  • Lecturers (for all lecturers);
  • Junior Lecturers (for lecturers whose teaching experience is less than or equal to three years);
  • Teams (for teaching and research staff working in teams);
  • Prospective Leaders (for teaching and research staff from other universities).

Winners in each of the categories will receive 250,000 rubles. Winners of the Prospective Leaders track will be able to implement their education projects at ITMO University.

  • Project Work;
  • Game-Based Learning and Gamification;
  • Active Learning;
  • Educational Video;
  • Online Courses;
  • Evaluation System;
  • Pedagogical Management.

To participate in the competition, you need to fill out a competition application no later than January 31, 2022 (inclusively).

The contest evaluates:

  • results obtained while working on the project; 
  • focus on solving urgent problematic issues in modern education;
  • the ability to scale the project up and adapt it for ITMO University;
  • use of modern educational technologies within the project.

The competition is organized by ITMO University.
