    Maxim Reshetnikov, the Russian Minister of Economic Development, has visited ITMO University to meet the heads of 6 Russian research centers involved in the development of artificial intelligence. Each center was established on behest of the Russian Government under the aegis of the country’s top universities and research institutions – the Higher School of Economics (HSE), ITMO University, Skoltech, Innopolis University, the Institute for System Programming of the RAS, and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).

  • New AI Solution Helps Design Arctic Infrastructure

    Researchers from the Intelligent Urban Planning Technologies Laboratory, part of ITMO’s Research Center “Strong AI in Industry,” trained AI to design industrial and port facilities specifically for the Arctic region. The new model can generate a full-scale model of the future site, reflecting all the peculiarities of the construction, the terrain, and the area’s harsh climate conditions, in just a few minutes.

  • ITMO Scientists Suggest New Method to Make More Adaptive and Autonomous Robots

    Scientists from ITMO have come up with a three-step algorithm for the development of manipulators and walking or wearable robots. Compared to the usual methods, the new approach results in lighter, more efficient, affordable, and compact mechanisms. Walking robots that can move without having a full map of their surroundings are just one example of the designs produced by the new method.
