• First Project Defenses Held as Part of ITMO’s 2030 Development Strategy

  A recent session of ITMO University’s Coordination Council included an interim review of the first projects implemented as part of the university’s 2030 Development Strategy. Four teams reported on their progress thus far; instead of a formal report, the defenses took place as open discussions.   ITMO University, Higher School of Economics (HSE), the Ural Federal University, Tomsk State University, and University of Tyumen created the Consortium of Universities for the Development of Universal Competencies. • Results in 15 Minutes: ITMO Researchers Develop Device to Detect Antibiotics, Bacteria, and Viruses

  In accordance with the standards of flexible electronics, the new testing device is made from hydrogel and liquid metal, while data processing is handled by machine learning algorithms. Currently, the device consists of a potentiostat, an electrochemical cell, and a connected computer, but all the components will soon be a unified system complete with a user-friendly app. How does the device work?
