The Museum of Optics is not only about beautiful exhibits but also exciting events. This week, there will be a popular science lecture on How the unfortunate Medusa was cursed.

In this talk, we will go into details about visual mechanisms, where impressions are hidden, and even the optical aspects of iconoclasm. We will find out what Euclid, Plato, and Ptolemy thought about our vision. And finally, we will discuss Medusa’s myth from a scientific point of view.

The lecture will be moderated by Sergei Stafeev, professor at ITMO University and scientific curator at the Museum of Optics.
