Fourth Online Bioinformatics Contest

The Bioinformatics Contest is an international online competition in the field of bioinformatics and programming that will be held for the fourth time in June 2021. Every year, it brings together over 3,000 students and specialists in bioinformatics, computer science, and biology from all over the world. This year’s partners are JetBrains, Genotek, Yandex, and Serokell.

Participants will be offered tasks based on real cases provided by bioinformatics specialists dealing with DNA, RNA, and protein sequence analysis, as well as other related subjects. The tasks are developed by the field’s leading specialists and staff of Russian and international research laboratories.

The contest will be held online on the Stepik platform and will consist of two stages:

• June 12-18 – a one-week qualification round;

• June 26 – a 24-hour final round during which the contest’s participants will solve bioinformatics problems. The top five participants will receive prizes while the top 20 will be presented with commemorative T-shirts.
