Description
On September 1-3, ITMO University is hosting orientation days in Russian for first-year Bachelor's and Master’s students where they will be filled in on all the information about studying at the university and the many opportunities it offers.
At ITMO_ENTER: offline, students will go through a wide range of thematic stations to learn everything a first-year should know about ITMO:
#itmo_native: what is “be ITMO”? What are ITMO’s values? And why is feedback so important?
#itmo_advice: introduction to ITMO’s many services and opportunities: the Student Services Office, stipends, student travel cards, counseling, academic mobility programs, and more!
#itmo_softskills: workshops on how to be your most organized self and work with academic materials;
#itmo_edu: learn more about the university’s structure, regulations, and individual learning tracks;
#itmo_global: what are academic mobility and semester exchange programs and how to take part in international conferences and do your internship abroad?
#itmostudents: find a student club to your liking and learn how to create your own one at ITMO, explore everything that ITMO has to offer, from extracurricular activities and volunteering all the way to media projects and trips, and finally meet the staff from ITMO.Students;
#kronbars: here, at ITMO, we don’t do boring PE classes, what we have instead is KronBars, a fun and welcoming student sports club offering more than 50 kinds of sports for you to enjoy. Football and basketball, ultimate or table tennis, floorball or hiking, fencing or ballet – pick and choose!
#itmo_accelerate: discover how to write a successful CV and kick start your career as a first-year student, find a career that fits your skills and interests, and turn your idea into a startup;
#itmo_science: discover and explore the amazing world of science at ITMO University (scientific fields, research opportunities, internships, grants, and more!);
Here, you get to decide which stations to go to and when by creating your own schedule via my.itmo.
All stations will be held in an interactive format: instead of classroom lessons, students will get to enjoy existing presentations, sports games, team building sessions, quizzes, and so on.
Apart from thematic stations, students can also book a tour of the university’s Museums of Optics, FabLab and other laboratories, as well as try their luck in the St. Pete challenge.
First-year Bachelor’s students should pay particular attention to everything that’s going on at ITMO_Enter, here they will not only have a whale of time but also get the first test grade.
For those who can’t attend, there will be special interactive sessions online via Zoom on September 7-9. Learn more here.
See you at ITMO_ENTER: offline!
