Description
On October 21, at 7 pm, George Whitesides, a professor at Harvard University, will deliver an online lecture at the International Conference on Robotization of Chemical Technologies held by ITMO’s Infochemistry Scientific Center.
Prof. George Whitesides is a member of the United States’ National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, as well as a foreign member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and the French Academy of Sciences, whose work continues to inspire prominent scholars and aspiring scientists to rethink the theory of life’s origin and existence.
The professor and his research team are creating new classes of adaptive materials, composites and polymers. They are actively engaged in biophysics, electrochemistry, microfluidics, molecular electronics, and soft robotics. Together with Ekaterina Skorb, the head of ITMO’s Infochemistry Scientific Center, Dr. Whitesides investigated the evolution of cells.
The registration deadline for online attendees is October 20. Participants will also have the chance to meet the representatives of the robotization industry, such as Gazprom Neft and Sibur, during round-table talks on October 22, as well as attend the Young Scientist School where they will try to code an industrial robot on October 23.
