From 2 to 4 of October the 5th Festival «Mechatronics and Robotics (M&R 2013)» will be held in EC Lenexpo. The youth robotics competitions and the exhibition of the innovative development of youth research teams are scheduled in the program of the Festival.
The organizers of the 5th Festival of M&R 2013 are:
The St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (NRU ITMO), Russian Research Center "Central Research and Development Institute of Robotics and Technical Cybernetics" (CRDI RTC), the Mathematics and Mechanics Faculty of the St. Petersburg State University (University "MatMeh") and Physics and Mathematics Lyceum № 239 (St. Petersburg). It has become a good tradition for talented young people engaged in creative activities in science and technology, to present their projects in the field of robotics and to surprise a lot of viewers by design and engineering solutions. They will present the exhibition of such robots as Segway, Ballbot, Motobot, flying robots (quadrocopter), crawling robot (“snake” robot), driving robots (balancers and wheel robots).
The competition between the youth teams of robotics will be the culmination of the Festival M&R 2013. The competition will be held in a number of disciplines and according to the regulations each discipline is dedicated to performing a specific task. In the first two days of competition to the audience and the jury will be presented: flying drones, the racing android robots, the racing Segway, the movement along the line, the soccer of the robots, the kegelring, the maze, the relay race, the rally along the corridor. On the third day of scheduled awarding ceremony the competent jury will sum up and call the team whose robot demonstrated the ability to competently build algorithms to solve navigation tasks.
Competitions, exhibitions and demonstration of robots will be held in the interactive mode. All visitors of the festival will be given an opportunity to control robots and to learn how they work.
