ITMO University’s Art&Science Residency: Open Call for Artists

ITMO University’s Art&Science Center is now accepting applications for participation at its art residency.

Art.ITMO.Residency is a new space for creative experiments at the junction of art and science. Artists will be able to work at ateliers and laboratories, as well as create art projects together with ITMO University’s scientists.

What the residents will get:

• A workspace in the center of St. Petersburg and event venues

• An opportunity to use professional equipment and tools (including that of ITMO University’s Fablab)

• An opportunity to work at scientific laboratories of ITMO University and to cooperate with scientists in the fields of IT, robotics, optics, photonics, chemistry, and biotechnology

• Non-local residents will get compensation for traveling and accommodation in St. Petersburg, as well as visa support (if needed)

The duration of stay at the residency is one to two months, starting from September 2020. It may be prolonged if necessary.

Selection process:

Open Call will last until April 26 on the center’s website. An expert committee of famous Russian and international curators, artists, and Art&Science researchers will evaluate the applications. The main criterion is the novelty of a project.

The results will be announced in May. Four residents will be selected.
