Description

The Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) is holding a competition for medals and awards given to young scientists and students for the best research projects. 

Annually, the RAS chooses 21 projects conducted by young scientists to be awarded with medals and 50,000 rubles prize money and another 21 projects done by students of Russian universities to be awarded with medals and 25,000 rubles prize money. The award competition is meant to help identify and support talented young researchers, their professional growth and creativity. 

Every winner of the competition will receive a medal, a certificate, a special badge and, of course, the award. 

To take part in the contest, each participant has to submit a paper with the results of their work. It can be a project conducted by one student/scientist or a group of students/young scientists with no more than 3 members. It can also be a project co-authored by older colleagues, if the contribution made by students/young scientists is significant.

  1. To take part in the contest for young scientists, you have to submit a paper (or several), or materials on development of devices, methods and technologies for research that contribute to science and present a creative solution. The projects have to be conducted by researchers under 33 years old at the time of application. 
  2. To take part in the contest for students, you can submit your thesis or a paper that presents the result of your creative approach to scientific problems and their solutions. Published papers and those submitted for publication are accepted (including those co-authored by older colleagues).

  • Mathematics;
  • General physics and astronomy;
  • Nuclear physics;
  • Physicotechnical problems in energetics;
  • Problems of engineering, mechanics and control processes;
  • Informatics, computer engineering and automation;
  • General and technical chemistry;
  • Physicochemistry and technology of non-organic materials;
  • Physical-chemical biology;
  • General biology;
  • Physiology;
  • Geology, geophysics, geochemistry, and mining science;
  • Oceanology, atmospheric physics and geography;
  • History;
  • Philosophy, sociology, psychology and law;
  • Economics;
  • Global economy and international relations;
  • Literature and language;
  • Design and development of devices, methods, technologies and new scientific and engineering products of fundamental and applied significance;
  • Medicine;
  • Agricultural complex.

To apply, you have to send in your paper by post by October 1, 2020. This step is obligatory for every participant, including those who have filed an online application.
