Description
ITMO University initiated a new competition for the participants of the Congress of Young Scientists. Not only will they be able to enroll in ITMO’s programs without having to take entrance exams but also receive a job offer at the university to perform their research. Winners will be able to work from September 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022.
How to apply?
Candidates should send a set of documents to the email address of the Congress of Young Scientists’ organizing committee by March 28, 2021, and provide the following information:
- desired position;
- title of the research project;
- test task;
- presentation draft.
What might cause the rejection of your application?
Your application can be rejected if your presentation does not correspond to the proposed topic of the project.
What are the main stages and deadlines of the competition?
The process takes two months from the date of the competition opening till the announcement of results:
March 10-28, 2021 – call for applications;
April 5, 2021 – announcement of successful candidates;
April 15-17, 2021 – public presentations and interviews following the results of presentations with the heads of projects;
April 20-22, 2021 – competition wrap up;
no later than May 1, 2021 – publication of the results on the official website of the congress;
September 2021 – conclusion of employment contracts and supplementary agreements with the winners of the competition.
Following the approval of the jury, including current scientific supervisors and heads of schools, the organizing committee will develop a program of the participants’ reports for public defense. An application can be rejected only in case an applicant’s report does not correspond to the proposed topic of the project.
The list of vacancies:
Project title: interaction practices in a transdisciplinary space.
Summary: the study focuses on the development of conceptual and technical solutions for implementing user scenarios and interfaces in order to represent a wide range of historical and cultural data: local history, museum and library collections, exhibitions, etc.
Job offers:
1. Narrative designer (one opening);
Requirements: create engaging texts for multiple audiences; fundamentals of scriptwriting for quests and tours with interactive components (both web and online); broad outlook and ability to quickly grasp new content; and tech fluency (Tableau, Omeka, QGIS, etc.).
Test task: come up with a scenario for a quest or interactive novel that would present a story from the list of topics in a fun and amusing way. The key media is a mobile app.
2. Junior developer (one opening);
Tech stack:
TypeScript (back- and frontend);
MongoDB;
Docker;
React + Relay (frontend)
GraphQL (backend);
Node.js.
Requirements: knowledge of the listed programs and ability to learn quickly.
