Last spring the Personal Development Center of the ITMO’s Faculty of Technological Management and Innovations at ITMO University ran a successful elective for students in partnership with a European University.
«The spring lectures were popular amongst the students. However we decided to adjust the program, adding more practice-oriented courses. This approach is more applicable for our students and helps them develop certain life skills. In order to discuss possible themes we invited potential employers,» notes the Head of the Personal Development Center, Mrs. Prichislenko.
In the end, the experience of last year’s electives, and the brainstorm of those who participated in the summer round table «Soft skills for IT» became the basis for these new courses, created to meet the needs of not only students but also employers. So, during the meeting with the executives of the IT industry, the experts identified several «pain points», gaps in the training of students, which prevents them from successfully applying for internships or jobs. The new courses aim to help students deal with these issues and help them become more competent, courageous, prepared and responsible achievers. You can sign up to them using this link. The number of places in the electives are limited. All courses will be taught in Russian.
