Three ITMO Researchers Win Yandex ML Prize
Recently, the Russian tech giant Yandex announced the results of its annual Yandex ML Prize, an award for researchers who contribute to the development of machine learning and train new talents in the field. This year, 14 researchers were honored with the award, including three from ITMO University. All winners will receive awards ranging from 500,000 to 1 million rubles. Games for Lectures: Introducing IdenTrack, ITMO’s New Educational Platform
IdenTrack is a new educational platform that helps students get into research, write scientific papers, present their ideas, and build their individual learning tracks. Unlike conventional online courses, the platform is structured like a game where students experience life-like situations guided by virtual mentors. New City, New University: Applications Underway for DVIZH Academic Mobility Program 2024
Until December 20, second- to fourth-year Bachelor’s students from ITMO University, the Russian Foreign Trade Academy, the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, and Tomsk State University can apply for the DVIZH academic mobility program and win a chance to spend a semester at one of Russia’s top universities. Study to Play: ITMO, VK and MIREA University Launch New Game Design Course
Starting now, students from ITMO and MIREA – Russian Technological University are able to join a course developed in collaboration with the gaming platform VK Play. The new discipline will cover all the basics of game design: from the assessment of design solutions to the evaluation of performance reviews. Best-performing students will have the chance to join the team at VK Play.

ITMO Launches State-Supported Continuous Professional Development Courses in AI
In collaboration with University 20.35, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and other universities, ITMO has launched online courses for professional training in AI which will allow ITMO students, graduates, and staff to learn more about analytics, predictive modeling, and AI architecture. A major part of each student’s tuition fee (up to 85,000 rubles) will be covered by the government.
