Programming & IT Among I Am a Professional’s Most Selected Tracks
As a result of the qualifying round of the I Am a Professional competition, the ITMO-organized track Programming & IT became the most popular among participants from the Northwestern Federal District. The university was also placed within the top three universities in St. Petersburg by the number of students who proceeded to the contest’s finals.

ITMO Tops Russian Universities Digitalization Ranking
The digital services provider Rostelecom and the Internet Initiatives Development Fund’s Accelerator have unveiled the results of their study of digital transformation efforts by Russian universities. Having analyzed 25 participants of the Priority 2030 national program, the experts ranked the universities by their level of digitalization. The first place is shared by ITMO University and Innopolis.

ITMO Students Shine at Yandex Cup
Recently, the final of the international programming tournament Yandex Cup took place in Istanbul. Among its winners were several ITMO students who ended up with monetary prizes of up to 500,000 rubles, as well as the opportunity to go through a simplified employment process at Yandex. In total, the final welcomed 196 participants from 21 countries.

AI Brainstorming and Techno Rave: Notes from Techno Quest by ITMO and Yandex
Is it possible to create a project for Yandex in just two hours? Guess what! It is, and AI is here to help. At the techno quest Future Gets Coded Here, ITMO students worked on their projects with Alice AI, and in the final, Yandex experts chose which were ready to go into production and which – needed some improvements. The event was also attended by Ilya Nowkie, a famous million-follower blogger, who enjoyed the techno rave and coded his future alongside ITMO students. Here are the highlights.

ITMO Student Wins Russia’s Drone Programming Championship
First-year ITMO student Ekaterina Kochetkova earned a gold medal at Russia’s first Drone Programming Championship. The final round was organized by the Competitive Programming Federation and took place at the tech hub Morion Digital in Perm, Russia.

Startups, Metaverses, and Competitive Programming: 8th Educational Forum It’s Your Call! Kicks Off at ITMO
On July 8-12, ITMO University will host the 8th educational forum It’s Your Call! At the event, participants of the national student competition I Am a Professional will learn how to use IT in business cases, develop digital products, and launch startups. At the case championship, students will tackle a real-world case from the event’s general partner Sberbank.

Hack Your Way into ITMO: Enroll Exam-Free With DevWeek Hackathon
Bachelor’s and Master’s students of Russian universities recently took part in DevWeek, a hackathon dedicated to software development and project management. For a week, the participants attended lectures and tackled cases brought in by experts from Alfa-Bank, Gazprom Neft, Samolet, and YADRO. Winners of the hackathon will get the opportunity to enter one of the four ITMO Master’s programs implemented in collaboration with these industrial partners without exams.

ITMO Students Secure Prizes at International Championship IT Planet Professionals
Artem Sukhov and Alexandra Sukhotina landed in the top three at the international championship IT Planet Professionals 2024, where they had to compile a series of requests for the Platform V Pangolin database management system. Over 900 students took part in the contest, competing for a prize fund of 1 million rubles.
