• ITMO Launches Institute of Applied Mathematics

  ITMO University has just opened the doors of its new Institute of Applied Mathematics. Its purpose is to amplify the mathematical training of students in the field of artificial intelligence as well as in associated research and applied projects. In the future, this new structural unit will also provide expertise to other ITMO faculties. Alexey Bobtsov, the head of the School of Computer Technologies and Control, explains why programmers need strong mathematical skills, and what other plans the institute has in store.
