The Large Hadron Collider at CERN is the most powerful particle accelerator in the world. It allows researchers to study particle physics at the highest energy levels available to accelerators. Stanislav Baturin has been working in the field of particle physics at Russian and American universities for many years. Last year, he joined the ITMO Fellowship & Professorship program and the team of the university’s Faculty of Physics. At ITMO, Stanislav is collaborating with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) located in Dubna, Moscow Oblast, on a project devoted to the physics of spinning particles. In March, the researcher will also teach an optional course on megascience-class installations. In this interview, he told us why researchers accelerate spinning particles and what to expect from his new course.
Recently, ITMO University has hosted a large-scale workshop event with lectures by Russian and international scientists, as well as a roundtable on young specialists’ careers in the field of antenna technology and applied radiophysics. Participation was open for students of St. Petersburg universities. Also attending were industry representatives, who readily shared their forecasts of the industry’s future and explained how to start a career in the field. Read more in this article by ITMO.NEWS.
