• Human Versus Computer: ITMO Students Excel at Major Scientific Conference in Computational Linguistics

  In recent years, the variety of automated text generation software has drastically increased. These programs can craft short sentences and even whole paragraphs that are nearly as natural-sounding as if they were written by humans. Can we now say for sure where a text originates from and, most importantly, what tools were used to generate it? These are the questions that students from ITMO’s Information Technologies and Programming Faculty tried to answer at Dialogue, the largest Russian scientific conference in computational linguistics. Here is what they have achieved so far.
