Areas of Growth in Russian Master’s Studies: Transformation of Programs and Ecosystem-Building
Is there a future for the established Master’s programs created dozens of years ago? What is a university ecosystem and how is it formed? How to measure the institutional environment? And what are the potential areas of growth for regional universities? These questions were discussed as part of the third and last day of the “Master’s Degree ++” conference that has recently concluded in St. Petersburg. The conference was organized by ITMO University together with the Vladimir Potanin Foundation and brought together experts from leading Russian and international universities and winners of the 2018-2019 Potanin scholarship contest for educators.

Future of NTI Centers Discussed at NTI Ecosystem Forum in Sochi
On December 6-7, the Russian city of Sochi hosted the forum ‘Ecosystem of the NTI: Strategy of the Future’. Over 300 representatives of the NTI (National Technology Initiative) community, including those from ITMO University, gathered to discuss long-term plans and new projects, as well as to recap on this year’s developments and recognize the achievements of the community members. Russia’s scientific and technological development in the coming years was the main topic of the forum.

Cindicator: A Startup To Ease You Way Into Cryptocurrency Markets

And why are worthwhile projects so easy to miss? Three years ago, Mikhail Brusov, Yury Lobyncev, and Artyom Baranov founded Cindicator, an innovative fintech startup. Using hybrid technologies as their main tool, the company have created several products allowing for complex analytics of financial markets. Last year, Cindicator raised $15,000,000 of investments through the means of initial coin offering (ICO). Following the startup successes, its founders now plan to branch out into creating a full-fledged capital management system. ITMO.NEWS met Cindicator co-founder and ITMO graduate Artyom Baranov to learn more about the company and its key projects.
