ITMO to Train Lecturers for St. Petersburg’s First IT School
The new partnership was announced at a press conference on the construction of the first state-owned IT school in the city, held by the Government of St. Petersburg, ITMO University, and Arsenal Group. ITMO University has developed a concept and training program for teachers at the school with a view to continue implementing professional training programs for educators. Through these initiatives, the university will provide comprehensive training for young staff of new schools.

ITMO Highpark to Get Transport Access to Kiyevskoye Shosse
The highway leading to ITMO Highpark, the university’s up-and-coming research and innovation center, will be widened to make the new campus more easily accessible. This renovation project for Kiyevskoye Shosse has recently been approved by the Government of St. Petersburg.

New Pumping Station To Be Installed as Part of ITMO Highpark Construction
Vodokanal of St. Petersburg (the city’s main water utilities enterprise – Ed.) has received a lease on a land lot in the Pushkinsky District of St. Petersburg along the Rekhkolovskoye Highway. This location will house the Alexandrovskaya water pumping station, which is necessary for the implementation of one of the city’s key strategic projects – the establishment of the research and education center ITMO Highpark. A decision to approve the lease was made during a session between Alexander Beglov, the Governor of St. Petersburg, and the members of the Government of St. Petersburg.

ITMO Highpark Joins New AI-Focused Science and Education Center
ITMO Highpark, the university’s upcoming second campus in the satellite city Yuzhny, has joined a scientific and educational center within the framework of the NOC project. This center will be engaged in studying artificial intelligence in industry.

Three ITMO University Professors Receive Government of St. Petersburg Award
This December started with the announcement of the results of the Government of St. Petersburg Award Competition for academic staff. ITMO University lecturers Ekaterina Sokolova, Anastasia Pavlova and Alexander Vasiliev are among the winners. Student of the Year Contest: Four ITMO University Students Become Laureates
On November 25, the finals of the Student of the Year contest were held in the concert hall of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. This year, almost 200 St. Petersburg students submitted their applications in 12 nominations. A total of 36 made into the final round, including four ITMO University students.

ITMO Scientists Awarded for Achievements in Science and Education by Acting Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov
At the end of May, some of ITMO University’s research staff were awarded by acting governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov. Ivan Iorsh, a member of the Faculty of Physics and Engineering, was recognized with a Leonhard Euler Prize for achievements in fundamental physics, while a group of researchers consisting of Alexander Kapitonov, Igor Lositsky and Evgeny Zavarin received a Government of St. Petersburg Prize for outstanding achievements in higher and secondary vocational education: the jury of experts distinguished the scientists’ contribution to the development of communication between higher education institutions and schools.

Six ITMO University Lecturers Awarded Prize by Government of St. Petersburg
Last week, the St. Petersburg Committee on Science and Higher Education unveiled the results of a competition for the Government of St. Petersburg’s prizes in the field of science education. Its aim is to boost the youth’s involvement and support the training of young specialists in science and technologies. Several ITMO University staff were recognized for their innovative academic works. ITMO.NEWS met the winners to discuss their achievements and plans for their prizes.
