• New City, New University: Applications Underway for DVIZH Academic Mobility Program 2024

  Until December 20, second- to fourth-year Bachelor’s students from ITMO University, the Russian Foreign Trade Academy, the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, and Tomsk State University can apply for the DVIZH academic mobility program and win a chance to spend a semester at one of Russia’s top universities.   ITMO University placed third in the categories Information Technology and Engineering & Robotics of the latest RAEX national ranking by subject. In total, the ranking featured 164 universities from 42 regions of Russia.

• ITMO Rises in RAEX National Ranking

  The agency RAEX Analytics has published its 11th annual ranking of the best Russian universities. For the fifth time in a row, ITMO University is featured among the top 15 of the ranking, this year being 13th on the list. All in all, the agency evaluated 206 out of 704 universities throughout Russia.

• ITMO University Named Russia’s Best University in Computer and Engineering Sciences

  The analytics center Expert has published its annual research productivity ranking of Russian universities. ITMO University was featured in 11 out of 17 subjects fields and 5 subareas, becoming first in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Chemistry, and Engineering Sciences.

• THE World University Rankings-2019: More Russian Universities Join the Top List

  The results of this year’s THE World University Rankings 2018−2019 (THE WUR-2019) have just been revealed. This year’s rankings include 155 more universities than last year’s, with a total of 1,258 higher education institutions from 86 countries. Russian universities have grown in presence: 35 against last year’s 27 universities made it to the top of the table. ITMO University has preserved its 501-600 place, but managed to improve its nationwide results, ranking fifth among other Russian higher education institutions.

• ITMO University Makes a Big Debut in 2018 Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects

  Published by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, an independent organization that conducts research on higher education intelligence, the Academic Ranking of World Universities, also known as Shanghai Ranking, is seen as the most objective among the most influential university rankings out there. It achieves this by fully leaving out surveys and interviews that are often included in other rankings but are inevitably subjective; instead, it uses factual criteria such as publishing metrics and the number of Nobel Prize and Fields Medals laureates among alumni and staff, and focuses on scientific and academic performance. The competition is tough: out of more than 4,000 contenders this year only 1,600 made it to the final list, ITMO University among them.
