ITMO University alumni association initiated the Store. According to deputy director of the association, Dmitry Svetlov, it was a long-held dream of many students, alumni and professors to launch an online shop, which sales souvenirs and closing with symbols and motto of ITMO University.
«Buying goods with ITMO University brand people demonstrate that they want to take part in significant events that change our university,» noted Mr. Svetlov.
ITMO Store offers four collections. «ITMO University» is a variety of accessories and apparel with ITMO University`s logotype and motto. «From Russia with LOVE» was designed for international students and partners. There are passport covers with traditional Russian patterns and small brooches made of felt such as Olympic bears, matryoshka dolls and so forth. «Kronbars» collection consists of goods symbolizing ITMO University sports club. «FabLab Technopark`s» souvenirs were designed with the assistance of FabLab`s equipment. ITMO Store goods were presented for International Board of the University at the official opening of new Representative Office.
As ITMO Store organizers said it sells about 5−6 items per day. Having opened two weeks ago the site of ITMO store was visited by more than 2000 users from all over the world.
«By selling branded goods we attract people who love ITMO University and who are ready to show this love. One of the main features of our university is equality. It means that students, professors, partners and staff members respect each other. For example, ITMO University rector heads ITMO bicycle races. As many our students he also wears a T-shirt with our motto „IT's MOre than a UNIVERSITY.“ Such activities unites ITMO University`s community,» Noted Anna Veklich, head of Strategic Communications Department.
It is also planned to broaden a product range. According to Store`s organizers it to sell nonfiction literature, scientific articles and journals recommended by ITMO University professors as well as children`s clothing, innovative cookies and autographs of ITMO University professors. ITMO Store welcomes everybody to comment and suggest new ideas.
