From 29 to 31 of October the Conference «Sensorica 2013» will host in University ITMO.

The conference is held by University ITMO together with the «Avangard» and the «North-West Center for Technology Transfer».

More information about the Conference can be found on the website.

The conference is supposed to reveal the theoretical and practical issues of sensing, such as the use of sensors, sensor networks, materials and technology to create sensors. The main objective of the organizers of the event is to provide a forum for the exchange of scientific and practical results to a wide range of professionals (undergraduates, graduate students, research workers, employees of enterprises, university professors and representatives of business innovation).

Sensors play a significant role in all areas of human activity. Sensor is not just a physical quantity detector, it is a miniature measuring instrument with advanced signal processing and digital interface.

Applied interfaces enable distributed networks consisting of sensors to self-organize, prioritize, adapt to the object being measured. The main trend has been the use of digital radio interfaces, and long-term use of autonomous sensors.

These results have been achieved only because of the emergence of new materials, which enable using the new methods to convert the measured physical quantity.

The use of new technologies can significantly extend the capabilities of the new programming methods of individual sensors and sensor systems.

The goals of the conference are:

  • generalizing of experience in the field of sensor technology and related fields;
  • definition of important areas of development;
  • exchange of scientific achievements;
  • increase the effectiveness of innovation in the field of sensor technology.
