Through the selection of clothing and footwear on display, the exhibition unpacks the fashion of the ‘20s and ‘30s and its art deco influences. In the spotlight are beaded dresses and shoes produced by eminent designers: Paul Poiret, Lucien Lelong, and many others. The exhibits are accompanied by era-defining artworks such as those of Henri Matisse and Raoul Dufy, as well as a collection of ‘20s movie posters.

Urban Poetics. Leningrad in the 1950s and 1960s
Being a jack of all trades, Evgeny Zlobin is not only an influential actor, a director, and a teacher – but also a talented photographer. Out of a pure hobby, he documented life in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) in the 50s and 60s with a spectacular series of cityscapes and street portraits, which are currently displayed at ROSPHOTO. Other exhibitions at the gallery include: Victory Day Memories, Hindsight, and more.

This Tuesday, the stage of St. Petersburg Philharmonia will bring together the most classical of all. Marking the birth anniversary of Pyotr Tchaikovsky, the state Russian academic orchestra will perform the composer’s timeless repertoire – complemented with the best of his predecessors, contemporaries, and followers: Mikhail Glinka, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, and Sergei Rachmaninoff.

The State Russian Museum opens the first exhibition of Ivan Pokhitonov’s works in St. Petersburg.
