The fountains are coming back to life at Peterhof – it’s a sure sign that spring is finally here! This Saturday, the park’s mesmerizing fountain ecosystem – about 150 fountains and water installations – will be launched for the first time and mark the start of the new summer season in Peterhof. As per tradition, the annual fountain show will take place later, on May 17.

There’s way more to see of Wassily Kandinsky, a pioneer of Russian abstract art, at the General Staff Building. Apart from its permanent collection, the museum now exhibits another of his much-loved Compositions – Composition No. 217. Grey Oval – from the Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts. The exhibition is a follow-up to a series of exhibitions aiming to spotlight artworks from different Russian museums that influenced the history of Russian and world art.

Victory Day Memories
For the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, the ROSPHOTO Exhibition Hall is presenting a series of photographs taken by professional and amateur photographers from 1945 to the mid-1990s. The display includes a moving collection of 150 pictures that document the last months of the war and the first weeks of peace, Victory Day celebrations, post-war life, and courageous feats of war heroes and heroines.
