Illustrating the golden age of fan making, the exhibition presents a range of hand fans that once belonged to Empress Maria Feodorovna: wedding, mourning, and souvenir, by Russian and foreign fan makers.

The Russian Museum’s back in its heyday with a new blockbuster exhibition, this time all about the legacy of Ivan Shishkin, a Russian master of realistic landscapes. The exhibition chronically charts the artist’s creative path – from the 1840's through his sudden death in 1898 – by showcasing a collection of over 120 landscapes created by the artist’s brush, including the unarguable gem Morning in a Pine Forest (1889) that lives in the halls of Moscow’s Tretyakov Gallery.
