Outdoor light exhibition

The Garden of Light project is back in town – this time with a new multimedia display inspired by the legend of the phoenix. Visitors are welcome to take a walk in the lovely winter garden where they’ll find themselves in a magical world of wonder and light. Illumination shows, intricate figures, and various themed and interactive exhibits are there to unveil the story of the mythical bird that symbolizes light, rebirth, and new beginnings. The combination of light installations and wonder-like nature will leave no one cold (at least figuratively).

Since January 14, the Mikhailovsky Castle has been holding an art exhibition displaying illustrations from children’s books by renowned Soviet artists. Two brothers Alexander and Valery Traugot – as well as their father Georgi Traugot – are renowned artists and illustrators who have brought around 200 timeless stories to life, including Charles Perrault and Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales, Russian folk tales, not to mention the stories of Alexander Pushkin, Anton Chekhov, and Mikhail Bulgakov. Their vivid imagination and infinite creativity got this artistic tandem a special place in the hearts of several generations of kids and adults alike.

Head to the Measure of Humanity exhibition by Juhan Kuus to explore the creative legacy of this popular Estonian photographer and his photo documentary on life in South Africa in the ’90s or take a journey to see the remains of a once-luxurious Soviet sanatorium in Abkhazia together with Katerina Kovaleva and her Patient History. The Right to Rest. Either way, you will be moved.
