Classical Music: Cello

At the coming meeting of the Community Center’s music club, participants will come together to listen to cello tunes, both on vinyl and live, broaden their music horizons, and attempt to perceive and articulate the “magic” behind the instrument. The meeting is a must for all classical music lovers out there!

The city may turn gloomier and cooler with each day, but that doesn’t mean the outdoor fun has to stop. For this Sunday, head to the city’s main botanical garden to enjoy the beauty of changing seasons at a free floral art exhibition that features 80+ works by artists who managed to bring nature onto canvases with natural materials.

Timepieces and Musical Mechanisms

To avoid the crowds, go to the Hermitage’s Restoration and Storage Centre to see, amongst many other things, timepieces and musical mechanisms produced in the 16th-19th centuries. On view are about 50 masterpieces, including such highlights as a German-made table clock, a large grandfather clock with two types of calendars (Gregorian and lunar) and moving elements inspired by the Perseus and Andromeda myth, and many more.

Man – Life – Universe. Contrast of Juxtapositions

The Museum of 20th-21st Century Art proudly celebrates its 10th anniversary with a newly-opened exhibition featuring pieces of art that put humans at the center of the universe. The display presents a remarkable collection of works spanning over a range of genres and periods – from paintings to sculptures, from the 20th century to the present day – that explore the milestones and hardships that shape a human’s life.
