The partners plan to develop toll highways and other road services. In cooperation with the top IT experts of the University, Avtodor’s specialists will also contribute to informatization of this field.
ITMO and Avtodor are going to focus on project and research activities. Here are some top-priority fields to be developed: information and telecommunications systems and smart transport systems; computer modeling of complex systems such as transport and economic planning and modelling; geo information systems; smart road lighting controlling; self-driving transport; automated highway control systems and so forth. A road map with a detailed development strategy for the next year will be prepared before the end of the year.
"ITMO University has experience in ambitious road infrastructure projects like transport flows' modeling, production planning documents for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in the Russian Federation, evolving evacuation and payment systems and others," says Vladlena Serebryakova, rector’s assistant for interaction with high-tech organizations.
Among the projects run by Avtodor are reconstruction of such large Russia’s highways as M-1 "Belarus," M-4 "Don," M-3 "Ukraine" and new expressway M-11 "Moscow — St. Petersburg."
