A great event for all art lovers is the Diaghilev P.S. Festival which will take place from November 23 to December 1 at different venues throughout the city. The festival features all kinds of events: from exhibitions, lectures and film screenings to theatrical performances and concerts, each in its own way novel and unique - be sure to check with the festival’s website, or just pick any of them, as you surely won’t regret it!
Another arts event that shouldn’t be missed is the Modigliani, Soutine, and Other Legends of Montparnasse exhibition at the Faberge Museum, featuring more than 120 artworks from the collection of Jonas Netter, which has only recently become available to the public. Whether you're an art buff or just looking to try out new things, this exhibition will truly come as an invaluable experience.
Moving on with the topic of exhibitions, this weekend well may be your last chance to acquaint yourself with the different projects dedicated to the Russian revolution. Starting with the Taking of the Winter Palace at the State Hermitage and onto ones like the Art of Agitation at the Museum of Printing or Inspiration in Red at the Rumyantsev Mansion, these projects will allow you to get immersed in the atmosphere of one of the biggest turning points of the 20th century.
Note that there are also some exciting projects on exhibit at the Peter and Paul Fortress, A.S. Popov Central Museum of Communications, and the Manege Central Exhibition Hall.
Finally, this weekend is also a good time to check out the new Russian Railway Museum - the recently opened venue boasts one of the world’s largest collections, and has already become hugely popular with the citizens and guests of St. Petersburg. The museum is located almost in the city center, a 7 minute-walk away from the nearest subway station, and there will be no entrance fee for the rest of the year - so, why not check it out?
