On March 3, the Spring Festival will start on Malaya Konyushennaya street; as usual, the event will last for over a week and feature different activities like concerts, performances and workshops, as well as a spring fair - a great opportunity to stock up on presents for the 8th of March. Don’t forget to try the various hot drinks and unique sweetstuffs offered at the festival!

Two more fairs will also take place this weekend. The Artbazaar at Art-Bank is a great place to find memorable gifts or original accessories made by local designers. As for the Genteel Rag Fair that will take place at the TKACHI creative space, this one is really unique, as it brings together designers, stylists, artists, cooks, florists and antique dealers from all over the country, so you never know what kind of items you might stumble upon!

It you’re looking for some cultural entertainment, there are some great options, as well. On Sunday, March 4, it will be the 3rd session of the Classics Without Borders festival; this time, the MarimbaMix band will present its “The Four Seasons” project and perform Vivaldi’s famous piece in percussions only, accompanied by the original sonnets and a visual performance.

At St. Petersburg’s Museum of Street Art, there’s the exhibition Graffiti in the Internet Age, which brought together street artists from Russia, the USA, Japan, Spain, Italy, and other countries. The project aims to study how the subculture that emerged in New York in the 70’s adapts to the conditions of the modern world.

Another most curious exhibition is Disciplinary Spaces in Erarta, which is dedicated to the concepts of freedom, control, and surveillance, which are becoming all the more pressing in the modern world.

Finally, a great way to make the most of this weekend would be to just get out of town, and enjoy the fresh air and dazzling scenery of the open country - as harsh as the Russian winter may appear, you’ll sure miss its beauty once it’s over!

See you next week! Yours, ITMO.NEWS.
