ITMO PhD Student Diego Arbildo Receives Best Foreign Professor Award
Diego Arbildo, a PhD student at ITMO’s Faculty of Technological Management and Innovations, has recently received the Best Foreign Professor Award at Jilin International Studies University, China. This award marks professionals who develop and implement innovative teaching methods. At 27, Diego has been to 6 countries and given lectures at major universities in Russia, South America, the Middle East, and Asia. In this interview, we asked him how to become a Professor and gain international experience as a Master’s student and what differences there are between students in China and their Russian counterparts.

ITMO Welcomes New PhD Students From Over 20 Countries
ITMO University has summed up the results of this year’s admission campaign. In 2023, applications for PhD programs went up 35% from the previous admissions season, reaching the highest recorded number in recent years. Another area of significant increase was enrollment of international students – this fall, the university welcomes PhD students from 24 countries across Europe, Asia, and the CIS.

Highlights of ITMO’s Open School for Latin American Students
ITMO University has conducted its first-ever interdisciplinary online school for students from Latin America. Over the course of five days, 350 participants enjoyed lectures by the university’s experts on chemoinformatics, robotics, information security and technologies, as well as machine learning. In the future, school participants will be able to continue their studies at the university as part of Master’s programs, academic mobility programs, or other educational initiatives.
