    This year’s Congress of Young Scientists marked the fifth time ITMO University played host to the major scientific event that guides aspiring researchers and scientists into the world of science. Over this time, the conference brought together thousands of university and school students, with this year reaching an audience of over 2,000 participants.   • EDfest St. Petersburg 2022 Wrap Up: Soft Skills, Jobs of the Future, and Lab Tours

    EDfest St. Petersburg is a career guidance festival for school students, which took place from March 28 to April 1 and offered five days of animation workshops, lectures on science, entrepreneurship, and professional development, interactive master classes on holography, as well as free counseling sessions based on cutting-edge brain-computer interfaces. The festival was supported by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and organized by ITMO’s Museum of Optics and ITMO Technopark.

  • Lectures on Ethical Hacking, Lab Tours, and Information Security Quizzes: ITMO Welcomes Baltic Science and Engineering Competition Finalists

    The Baltic Science and Engineering Competition is one of the major contests for school students from Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent Nations. Its winners get to take part in Intel ISEF and compete for awards. As a partner of the competition, ITMO annually welcomes its finalists to introduce them to the research conducted at the university. This year, the participants visited the International Scientific and Academic Center “Security and Safety for Critical Digital Technologies” to learn about the center’s key projects, ethical hacking, and ways to enroll in ITMO.

  • Over 100 School Students Give Presentations at 10th Congress of Young Scientists

    This year’s Congress of Young Scientists brought together 114 school students from 33 cities in Russia and Belarus. Most of the participants will graduate this year and many took part in a conference of such magnitude and level for the first time. As a result, experts chose 15 winners who will receive prizes and advance to the final round of the ITMO.STARS contest, as well as three more holders of the special award.

  • ITMO Robotics Team Converts Hoverboard Into Life-Sized Robot

    The robot’s algorithm controls the self-balancing scooter’s motherboard, the human-size robot impresses with its dimensions, weight, and technical solutions. The team has already won the St. Petersburg Open Robotics Competitions, and their next goal is the national stage of the RoboCup.
