    There are many tools for getting feedback from students, professors, graduates and other participants of the educational process. One of them is assessment. ITMO University conducts more and more surveys, the most highly anticipated are the ones on the quality of teaching in specific subjects. They began with assessment of the core set of disciplines. Two years of collecting feedback on these modules allowed us to understand what should be changed in order to make them better. In this article, the Center for Educational Management and Quality Assurance explains how students’ opinions influence the quality of education.

  • Two ITMO University Lecturers Receive Potanin Foundation Grant

    The Vladimir Potanin Foundation grant contest for university lecturers has concluded its 2020 run. A total of 747 representatives of 75 leading Russian universities took part in the selection. The grant was awarded to 100 successful candidates, two of whom are from ITMO University.   • How to Teach in English: EMI Teacher Training Course for Lecturers of Russian Universities

    ITMO University just completed the results of a 13-week English as a Medium of Instruction Teacher Training professional development course. 15 specialists from different Russian universities took part in the course. For the first 12 weeks, the lecturers studied online: they watched lectures and completed relevant tasks. The last week of the course was devoted to practice and was held at ITMO University.

    In 2018 the Kotlin community, centered around a programming language co-created by ITMO University graduates, grew at an unprecedented pace. This past January, some 1.5 million users have edited their code in Kotlin, which is more than twice compared to last year’s numbers.     ITMO University’s Technopark and the Future Technologies business accelerator have launched TEAM, an intensive team development course that helps startup managers acquire various soft skills and learn how to establish communications within a team.
