• Results of the 2018 Admissions Campaign at ITMO University

  The 2018 admissions campaign at ITMO University has come to a close; the lists of students admitted to Bachelor’s and Master’s programs have been published (links are in Russian). This year’s Bachelor’s students have, as usual, demonstrated high Unified State Exam (USE) scores. A large share of the newly-admitted Master’s students are graduates of other universities.

• ITMO Graduate Nadia Polikarpova on Working at MIT and UC San Diego

  Ten years ago, Nadezhda Polikarpova graduated from ITMO University; since that time, she got her PhD at ETH Zurich under the supervision of renowned software engineering expert Bertrand Meyer, worked as a postdoc at MIT and got the position of an Assistant Professor at UC San Diego. • Here's How ITMO's New Academic Degree System Will Work

  Last year, 19 universities and 4 scientific organizations in Russia were given the right to grant their own academic degrees, form thesis boards and outline their credentials. According to representatives of those universities that have already started this process, it will help Russian universities better integrate into the international community. At the same time, experts agree: more abilities means more responsibility. • From A Double Degree Program To A PhD In France: Student Shares

  In 2014-2016, Uliana Pinaeva was studying Molecular Bio- and Nanophotonics (MONABIPHOT), a double degree program conducted by ITMO University and ENS de Cachan (France). During her time in France, she decided to continue her education as a PhD student abroad. To get a corresponding grant, she passed a three-stage selection conducted by the University of Paris-Saclay. Currently, Uliana is a second-year PhD student working in a laboratory at École Polytechnique - one of the most prestigious universities in France. In an interview for ITMO.NEWS, she gave advice on developing one’s career on an international level and getting funding for studying in France.
