Russia’s First Master’s in Programming for the Visually Impaired Launches at ITMO
In 2023, ITMO University is set to launch its Programming for the Visually Impaired Master’s program. The program, which aims to train IT specialists to develop new products that can be used by people with visual impairments, will be the first of its kind in Russia. It will be open to people both with and without disabilities, as the entirety of the program’s curriculum was designed to accommodate all kinds of students. A mysterious haiku that appeared on billboards all around St. Petersburg led over 5,000 curious minds to a hardcore IT quest designed by ITMO’s experts. The first participant to get through all of the challenges secured the main prize – a place in one of the university’s Bachelor’s programs.

Admissions Office Opens at ITMO
This Monday, June 20, ITMO University threw open the doors of its admissions office for applicants wishing to apply in person. This year, all prospective students can learn more about ITMO and its programs, as well as submit their documents, at Kronverksky Prospekt 49. As usual, online admissions are also open.

ITMO Holds First Forum for Winners of National Mega Contest
This spring ITMO hosted the first national Mega Contest, winners of which can enroll into the university’s Master’s programs without entrance exams. A total of 1,348 participants, Bachelor’s graduates of years 2020 and 2021 from various Russian cities, competed in 13 tracks, with only 41 of them making it to the top. The winners received travel grants to get to the Mega Forum, where they got to know the university, advanced their skills at workshops, and participated in a hackathon.

11th Congress of Young Scientists at ITMO Brings Together 2,000+ Russian Researchers from 66 Cities
On April 4-8, ITMO University hosted the 11th Congress of Young Scientists. While the event had been held online in the past two years, it was now once again available offline, too, with 64 sessions held in the blended format. All in all, more than two thousand representatives of 160 scientific organizations and universities from 66 Russian cities took part in the event.
