  • ITMO Researchers Combine Perovskites and Carbon Nanotubes in New High-Precision Device

    Perovskites are a class of semiconductors that are being actively researched in light of their unique physical properties. In the past decade, solar cells based on these materials have attained a commercial level of effectiveness. In a new study, researchers from ITMO have presented a prototype version of a photodetector based on carbon nanotubes and perovskites.   • Congress of Young Scientists Day 1: School of Russian Science Foundation, Art & Science, and Student Laboratories

    December 8 marked the start of the National Congress of Young Scientists – one of the closing events of the Russian Year of Science and Technology – in the Sirius Park of Science and Art, Sochi. More than 3,000 attended the congress on the first day.   • Scientists Develop Compact Nanolaser with Unique Properties

    A team of researchers from the ITMO University’s School of Physics and Engineering, the Nonlinear Physics Center at the Australian National University (ANU), and Korea University has developed a compact nanolaser based on a photonic crystal waveguide with super-high efficiency. The device is a photonic structure and is notable for its small size compared to its counterparts. An article about this device was published in Nature Communications.
