• Beginner’s Guide to Submitting Your Research to Scopus and Web of Science Journals

  Scopus and Web of Science are the two largest databases that collect data from top scientific journals. Today, publications in journals indexed by these two systems and the number of references to these works in other authors’ papers are key indicators of a scientist’s activity and reputation. • ITMO University Enters Academic Ranking of World Universities for the First Time

  ITMO University has entered the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), widely known as the Shanghai Ranking. Considered one of the most objective rankings, it takes into account the universities’ bibliometric indexes and the prevalence of prestigious awards among their graduates and staff. ITMO University entered the ranking in the 801-900 position.

• Physicist Yuri Kivshar on Russian Science, Career Management and Metaoptics

  Seven years ago, ITMO University launched the Metamaterials Laboratory. It all began with a grant won by Yuri Kivshar, a world-class scientist and one of Russia’s top physicists. Since then, the university has also launched the Department, and later, the International Research Center of Nanophotonics and Metamaterials. Under Yuri Kivshar’s leadership, the center’s researchers were the first in the world to venture into a completely new field: dielectric nanophotonics, or, as the scientist calls it, “metaoptics”. • ITMO Professor Emeritus Yuri Kivshar Among Winners of Web of Science Awards 2017

  The Web of Science Awards 2017 were presented in Moscow to scientists and scientific organizations for their contribution to science. Sixteen Russian scientists received awards, including Yuri Kivshar, research director of ITMO’s Center for Nanophotonics and Metamaterials and a professor of the Australian National University.

• ITMO’s Nanosystems Journal Joins the Web of Science Core Collection

  The journal "Nanosystems: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics" was included in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoS CC), a scientometric and bibliographic database. Publishing one’s article in a journal from the WoS CC is the most appropriate way of sharing one’s work with the international research community.
