  • Academic Exchange Competition: Don’t Lose Your Chance to Spend a Semester Abroad

    Twice a year, ITMO University runs an internal competition for students wishing to go on an exchange semester at one of ITMO’s partner universities. Bachelor’s and Specialist’s students starting from their second year of studies and all Master’s students can take part in the selection process. The competition for fall semester 2022 launched on January 24 and will close on February 17. Here’s what you need to do to submit a strong application.

  • Education Helps You Understand Things, Science Communication – to Explain Them: An Interview with ITMO University Graduate Daniil Shirokov

    Daniil Shirokov is one of the first graduates of the Science Communication program at ITMO University. By the time he started his Master’s studies, he already had a Bachelor’s degree in biophysics. Now, Daniil works as a science communicator at one of the biggest private clinics in St. Petersburg while writing a thesis on philosophy. ITMO.NEWS contacted him and found out what it’s like to switch from hard science to humanities, why a medical center would need a science communicator and how he studies the way scientific knowledge changes at modern universities.


  • ITMO Partner Day: Discussions and Collaborations

    On September 20, 2019, ITMO University held ITMO Partner Day, which brought together over 30 representatives of ITMO’s international partner educational institutions. Attending the event were rectors and vice rectors, heads of international departments, coordinators of international programs, and professors of the universities from Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, the US, Australia and other countries. As part of the Partner Day, they attended several of ITMO’s laboratories and were able to meet the university’s students during the Study Abroad Fair 2019, an educational fair dedicated to international exchange opportunities.

  • ITMO University and University of Lorraine Expand Opportunities for Student and Staff Mobility

    Starting from the new academic year, Master’s and PhD students at ITMO University will be given the opportunity to participate in academic exchanges and internships at the University of Lorraine (Université de Lorraine, UL), one of France’s largest and highest-rated universities. Moreover, ITMO and UL will be able to exchange professors who will give topical lectures on a wide range of subjects. Such an expansion of the mobility opportunities available has been made possible thanks to an Erasmus+ program grant.
