Taiwanese Nutrition Scientist on Foodsharing, Functional Foods, and Grashopper Protein
Dr. Venkatakrishnan Kamesh is a renowned specialist in functional food and nutraceuticals. He is currently a researcher at Chung Shan Medical University (Taiwan) and a guest lecturer at many universities of India and Taiwan, with his topics ranging from food biology and clinical biochemistry to physiology, pharmacology and biotechnological innovations. Dr. Kamesh recently gave a course at ITMO University. How to Start Your Own Business: Advice from Experts
ITMO University just hosted an expert session for hardware, high-tech and IT projects of the Future Technologies accelerator. This year, a record-breaking amount of participants made it to the final selection - 25 teams in total. Up until March, they’ll be finalizing their technologies, choosing and testing business models, studying their target audiences and making their first sales. Recently, the novice entrepreneurs’ projects were assessed by experts - founders and CEO’s of companies, specialists on growing markets, the financial sector and marketing. In an interview for ITMO.NEWS, they’ve shared about why most startups face common problems, the usual mistakes novice startupers face, and what there is to expect from 2018 in terms of promising technologies.

International Experts on Business Incubators and Accelerators in Russia
What are startup accelerators and business incubators about? Growing a new generation of entrepreneurs? Speeding up startup development? It hasn't been long since they've appeared in Russia, but now a Russian university can't call itself progressive if it has no entrepreneurial environment. Yet, in pursuit of modern tendencies, one must not forget the very point of creating business incubators. Tom Strodtback, Director of European and Asian Partnerships at Global Accelerator Network, and Lynn Robertson, Liverpool Incubator Manager at Santander UK Corporate & Commercial, shared about how incubators help novice entrepreneurs, who invest in startups and their impressions of the entrepreneurial environment in Russia. Tom Strodtback and Lynn Robertson came to Russia to speak at a seminar for heads of business incubators and technoparks, which was hosted by ITMO University on February 6−7.
