• ITMO and Yandex Hold National Technology Olympiad Finals in Robotics

  The finals of the National Technology Olympiad (NTO) in Intelligent Robotic Systems have recently concluded at ITMO. This year, the contest’s technological partner was Yandex; the company provided educational models of delivery bots for which the participants developed autonomous navigation systems. • First Time: ITMO Hosts Regional Round of Russian National School Student Contest in Three Subjects

  This year, ITMO hosted the regional rounds of the national school student contest in three subjects – computer science, physics, and ecology – for the first time. In total, the contest brought together about a thousand talented school students from St. Petersburg. The national contest is the biggest and most prestigious of its kind for school students; winners get the opportunity to enroll at the country’s leading universities without exams.

• I Am a Professional Student Contest: Top Tracks in St. Petersburg

  Among the students from St. Petersburg who took part in the eighth season of the I Am a Professional student competition, the following tracks turned out to be the most popular: Programming and Information Technologies; Medicine and Pediatrics; and Artificial Intelligence. This year, the total number of applications reached 185,000 – over 16,000 of them from St. Petersburg.

• ITMO Team Reigns Supreme in Russian Infosec Championship

  The latest Russian championship in competitive programming welcomed more than 160 teams from across the country, with only 38 making it to the finals. ITMO students secured the first place in the track Programming of Information Security Systems, while the second and third places went to participants from the Republic of Tatarstan and Moscow. The winners split a prize fund of over 1 million rubles.

• I Am a Professional Competition for Students: ITMO in Top Ten Universities by the Number of Winners

  Last week, results were announced of the latest, third run of the national competition for students “I Am a Professional”. ITMO retained its position in the ranking of the universities with the highest number of winners: 94 of its students made it to the finals this year, with 10 winning bronze, six – silver, and four – gold medals. Most of the winners emerged in the nominations traditional to ITMO: Robotics, Programming and Software Engineering, Information and Cyber Security.
