• From Saxophonist to Roboticist: ITMO Team Takes Second Place at RoboCup Russia

  ITMO's Youth Robotics Lab students placed second in the Show with Robots category at RoboCup Russia, an open robotics competition for school and university students. At the contest, the team showcased Fantastic Robby Brown – a robot saxophonist they began designing in high school.

• ITMO Youth Robotics Team Outshine All at RoboCup Asia-Pacific 2021

  Friendly Friends, the team of ITMO’s Youth Robotics Lab, and their robot musician Robert Robotecky placed first at RoboCup Asia-Pacific 2021. At the tournament final, the robot performed Sous le Ciel de Paris and Blue Canary while riding a hoverboard.

• Team of ITMO’s Youth Robotics Lab Deemed Best Novices at RoboCup 2021 Finals

  ITMO’s team became best among novices at the international finals of RoboCup 2021. Their winning project was Robert Robotecky, a robot musician that performed the popular French song Sous le Ciel de Paris.

• ITMO Robotics Team Converts Hoverboard Into Life-Sized Robot

  The robot’s algorithm controls the self-balancing scooter’s motherboard, the human-size robot impresses with its dimensions, weight, and technical solutions. The team has already won the St. Petersburg Open Robotics Competitions, and their next goal is the national stage of the RoboCup.

• RoboCup-2017: ITMO School Team Gets Novice Award

  ​From July 25 to 30th, RoboCup-2017 finals were held in Nagoya, Japan. This year, for the first time in the university's history, two teams from ITMO took part in the final stage of the famous tournament. Despite being newcomers, ITMO University's School Team earned its first award - the Novice Award in the On Stage category of the RoboCup Junior league. Team members and their trainers spoke to us about how they prepared for the international contest and what difficulties awaited them at the tournament.
