Technopark of ITMO University is a center for interaction of educational and research institutions as well as commercial enterprises. It aims to support all kinds of commercialization of scientific achievements.

Thanks to reports by speakers of such companies as Audi, Samsung, Mentor Graphics, Qualcomm, Panasonic, Infineon Technologies, GSK, Microsoft, J&J, Intel, BASF, Analog Devices and others Russian experts knew about trends in internet of things, health care, drug manufacturing and so forth. ITMO U representative also had talks on cooperation with officials from Johnson & Johnson, GSK, Audi AG and IMEC.

ITF-2016 takes place every year and aims to find new technical solutions for the future. The conference serves as a driver for IMEC technological forums. This company is a world`s leader in nanoelectronics.  

“Despite of unstable political situation trade and economic cooperation of Russia, Belgium and Luxemburg makes great strides. Our business mission proves this statement. Russia and Belgium make business contacts in such fields as chemistry and drug manufacturing, cargo shipping, air transport and so forth. The universities of two countries provide joint innovation projects. Belgian entrepreneurs came to Russia to participate in SPIEF, International Gas Forum in St. Petersburg and other events. We also make contacts with experts from Luxemburg – our colleagues collaborate with us in the field of investments, logistics and transport sector,” noted Sergei Surkov, Deputy Commercial Officer in Belgium.

Thanks to support of Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Belgium Russians met with specialists of Belgian Health Care Association, Solvay and Awex companies. The meeting resulted in cooperation agreements with Ghent University, Department of Research and Innovations Wallonie-Bruxelles International.

According to Olesya Baranyuk, Deputy Head of ITMO University Technopark, one of the main results of the session was an achievement of Optimal Drive company, a resident of Technopark, which offers tools for optimization of business processes. Currently it prepares solutions for Solvey, one of the largest chemical companies in the world.

International colleagues also appreciated that ITMO U opened Rep office in Brussels. Belgian partners also noted that they would organize St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad business missions in October 2016. Russian experts will also visit the colleagues to present products of Technopark residents as well as participants of business incubators and startup accelerators.
