In honor of the 200th anniversary of Grigory Vasilyev (Soroka)’s birth, A Talent with Tragic Fate at the Russian Museum features the highlights of the famed Russian painter’s art from its own collection, as well as from other best-known museums and galleries of Russia. The exhibition includes more than 50 paintings and drawings by the artist, most of which are inspired by rural life, as well as works of his contemporaries.

The exhibition features an extraordinary collection of Wassily Kandinsky's work that follows his evolution as the pioneer of European abstract art.
