Ongoing exhibitions at Erarta: Fashion and Digital Art

  • Until November 27, 2022 and March 12, 2023; 10 am - 10 pm daily, except Tuesdays
  • Erarta Museum
  • 600-1,000 (includes an annual pass)

As usual, if you are craving some contemporary art, Erarta is the place to go this weekend. One of the already ongoing exhibitions there is digital artist Roman Hodirev’s Tube TV Dreams with bright mandala-inspired pieces that explore the origins of the world. The second exhibition we’ve picked will open tomorrow and will present a collection of photographs by the Italian model Alberta Tiburzi, whose work as a photographer was praised by esteemed fashion publications. The unconventional task we would like to offer you, should you decide to visit both of these in one weekend, is to try and place them into one narrative – maybe through colors, maybe through some deeper aspects of the works you see. After all, exciting new ideas are often born when you combine seemingly incompatible things.

Organ and tin whistle concert

Speaking of seemingly incompatible, here is a concert that speaks “cultural capital” like no other: in one evening, you will get to hear some classical organ pieces followed by traditional Irish tin whistle tunes! Not just that, but both parts will be performed by one and the same Kristina Rotaeva, who will bring her two passions together on the stage of the Malta Capella.

Giclée prints of works by Frieda Kahlo and Diego Rivera

If going to the other side of the world to see original paintings by these two prominent Mexican artists seems too complicated, this weekend you have the chance to see high-quality giclée prints of their works at Loft Project Etagi. Vibrant, deep, meaningful, and largely inspired by her life, Kahlo’s masterpieces have many stories to tell, and this time they will be complimented by the works of her partner and husband Diego Rivera. With so much life contained within one exhibition, visiting it is bound to become a transformative experience.

Movie weekend: Something in the Dirt

In this mix of sci-fi, horror, and comedy, you will join Levi and John, two neighbors who witness something extraordinary and go on a quest to prove the supernatural, hoping to run into some cash at the end. This is a thrilling tale for anyone who didn’t get enough of Halloween and clearly isn’t buying into the sneaky New Year decorations that are already popping up in random places around the city.
