While the expos are on a brief hiatus, a vibrant art installation has popped up near the Manage Exhibition Hall. Courtesy of the Brazilian artist Rommulo Vieira Conceicao, the display was created specifically for the museum: bold geometric shapes, labyrinthine patterns, and bright colors come into a brilliant interplay with local cityscapes.

Another destination on our list is a newly-opened display dedicated to the Qing Dynasty. The display goes beyond the museum’s permanent collection; it features a range of thematic items, from formal portraits to ceremonial robes and palace artifacts, which belonged to the last imperial dynasty in the history of China, whose reign lasted from 1644 to 1911.

This new exhibition documents the history and experiences of Soviet male dancers in the 1930s-1970s, whose lyrical, dramatic, and heroic performances as revolutionaries, gladiators, and space explorers moved them past their support role for ballerinas – and thus changed the face of dance for men forever.
