According to Natalya Karmanova, there is plenty of methods of psychological pressure that are not obvious, such as subliminal stimuli or a sound with a specific acoustic frequency rate. In her research, Ms. Karmanova analyzed what lawbreakers do in order to gain secret information. Having studied their behavior, one can catch them. For example, hackers want to receive information and they already know how to hack all firewalls to gain access to a server with important data. Among other data protecting programs, information security experts can install a fake program which will "lead" hackers to a fake server. It makes "burglars" think that they are following the right way and nobody spies on them but specialists that can monitor what they do and understand what opportunities they have.

All actions made by both hackers and data protectors can be described by means of formulas. Using them it is possible to predict the intention and goals.

The researcher used Vladimir Lefebvre’s formula:

This "behavior chain" has the following elements: A is an aim, T is a set of instruments, D is a doctrine and R is a solution.

"Using correlations of the formula we made a model of a situation when experts use the fake server. To conduct an experiment we used a group of people — everybody had his or her own role. I was a person who picked up the information about the hacker," comments of Natalya.

People always change their intentions under the influence of various circumstances. Variations of the media space even if they are short-term, affect our perception and decision making process. All these things are related to data security because being too relaxed or, on the contrary, stressed means that we can easily make a mistake.

According to Ms. Karmanova, this research project is yet to be finished. The results can help to select personnel for positions that require stress resistance and quick decision making like, for example, a pilot.

"We are going to implement our method into a project called "Systems for monitoring and safety of the city" initiated by PBS company. The system is based on the IoT technology. It is used for analyzing statistic, demographic, economic and other types of information," noted Natalya Karmanova.

Ms. Karmanova’s research took second place at the contest "Russia's Future Is in High Technologies." Together with other winners, she visited the Lavochkin Research and Manufacturing Association and the "Energomash."
