• Approved: Construction of First ITMO Highpark Buildings

  St. Petersburg State Construction Supervision and Expertise Service has issued its approval of the construction of ITMO University’s campus on the grounds of the ITMO Highpark research, education, and innovation center.

• Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Named as Chair of ITMO Highpark Board of Directors

  The implementation and funding of ITMO Highpark, a new campus currently under construction in the satellite city Yuzhny south of St. Petersburg, will now be carried out within the framework of the programs of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education; the government body’s head, Minister Valery Falkov, has been chosen as the chair of the company’s board of directors. Maxut Shadayev, who heads the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, which was previously tasked with overseeing the project, will stay on as a member of the board.

  On December 10, projects submitted as part of the ITMO.FUTURE contest were presented at a final defense. A total of 22 projects made it to the final stage; their creators will receive monetary prizes for their contribution to the university’s development.

• ITMO University in 2020: A Year in Review

  This year was a year like no other. We started it ready to celebrate ITMO’s 120th anniversary, but before we knew it, our entire digital infrastructure was put to the test. Though it was not an experience anyone could be prepared for, our staff and students handled it like champs. Truly, it was a jubilee year to remember. • New Coworking Space Now Open at ITMO’s Lomonosova 9 Campus

  Just last month, a new coworking space opened its doors at ITMO’s main building on Kronverksky Prospekt 49. On November 24, a counterpart opened at the Lomonosova St. 9 campus. Both of the coworking spaces and the upcoming library have been developed as part of the university’s overall transformation strategy that aims to make studying, working, and socializing comfortable and enjoyable for all students.

• First ITMO Highpark Objects Successfully Pass Public Hearings

  The ITMO Highpark JSC has successfully passed its first public hearings for the conditionally authorized use of a site for the construction of phase-one objects of the new science, education and innovations-focused center ITMO Highpark in St. Petersburg’s Pushkinsky District. This site will be used for the phase-one construction works, housing a study building, dormitories, research centers, and a sports and recreation center with a swimming pool.
