  Takshama Bhatt from Gujarat, India, is a second-year international Master’s student of molecular biology and biotechnology. • ITMO’s Russian Language and Culture Summer School: An Online Experience

  For the sixth year in a row, ITMO is bringing Russian language and culture to the world. Although the school was conducted online for the third time, this format helped to expand the school’s reach. This year we had students from 10 different countries join the school to improve their language skills and also get a deep dive into Russian culture, cinema, history and politics.

• Student Spotlight: Susan Dzhiakkhvo, Nepal

  Winner of the Open Doors International Master’s Challenge 2020, Susan Dzhiakkhvo hails from Bhaktapur, Nepal, and is an international Master’s student in molecular biology and biotechnology at ITMO. Due to the travel restrictions, Susan had to complete his entire first year of studies remotely. It was a bag of mixed emotions for him. We got a chance to catch up with him virtually and learn about his experience of studying at ITMO, his expectations regarding St. Petersburg, as well as his goals and ambitions in life.

• Latvian Student on the Challenges of Distance Learning and Closed Borders
